Executive Summary

CliniciansCheck is a technology platform, not a healthcare provider, emergency service, or crisis response system. While our platform may facilitate discussions of a clinical nature or host health-related content, we do not provide real-time monitoring, mental health triage, or emergency medical support.

This guidance explains how we handle user-generated content involving distressing language or disclosures, and sets clear expectations for patients, clinicians, and all users regarding our role, limitations, and responsibilities.

1. Platform Role Clarification

CliniciansCheck:

  • Does not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

  • Does not intervene in emergencies, abuse cases, suicidal ideation, or public health risks.

  • Is not monitored live or staffed by medical professionals.

  • Does not act as a clinical authority under any licensing jurisdiction.

  • All users are expected to seek appropriate help from licensed local services when in need.

2. No Emergency Capability

Users must understand that:

  • Emergency situations are outside the scope of this platform.

  • If you or someone you are engaging with is in immediate danger, experiencing a health crisis, or disclosing abuse or suicidal thoughts, you must contact local emergency services or helplines directly.

  • CliniciansCheck is not able to respond, contact authorities, or intervene in any form.

  • We are not a substitute for police, ambulance, hospital, or clinical safeguarding teams.

3. Platform Use for Sensitive Content

While we support open dialogue within respectful boundaries, we may:

  • Provide automated safety information or resource links in response to flagged keywords.

  • Allow users to report inappropriate or harmful content for moderation review.

  • Alert the clinician (if appropriate) to review their own interaction with a user who appears distressed.

This does not imply any duty to act, and CliniciansCheck does not guarantee intervention or follow-up.

4. Responsibilities of Clinicians

Clinicians using the platform are individually licensed in their respective regions and are bound by their own professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities.

  • CliniciansCheck does not supervise or direct clinical care.

  • Clinicians act independently, and all professional decisions, including how they respond to a distressed patient, are their legal responsibility.

  • CliniciansCheck will cooperate with legitimate authorities if legally compelled but assumes no liability for clinical conduct.

5. Data & Privacy Safeguards

  • Sensitive disclosures (including distressing content) are not reviewed in real-time.

  • We apply data minimization and encryption protocols, and access to flagged content is limited to authorized personnel for moderation only.

  • Where possible, we may direct users to external services, but we do not retain or process information in a way that enables clinical intervention.

6. Legal Disclaimer

This policy exists to clarify that CliniciansCheck is a facilitator, not a provider. No aspect of this platform may be interpreted as:

  • A clinical service

  • An emergency escalation tool

  • A therapeutic or diagnostic solution

Use of the platform constitutes acknowledgement that emergency support, mental health treatment, and crisis intervention must be sought outside of CliniciansCheck.

7. Global Compliance Statement

This policy is aligned with international frameworks governing:

  • Platform liability (EU DSA, US Section 230, UK Online Safety Bill)

  • Healthcare regulation and licensing

  • Cross-border patient safety guidance
